For parents

An investment in the child,
not just the game.

Chess is one of the best tools there is for building focus, patience and decision-making in children. With me, kids learn to think before they move, to lose with grace and win with humility, and to enjoy every minute of it.

01

Focus & patience

A single game means sitting, observing and thinking several moves ahead. It's a muscle that grows lesson by lesson.

02

Making decisions

Every move is a choice and a responsibility. Kids learn to weigh options, decide, and stand behind the decision.

03

Handling a loss

Lose, analyse, play again. Chess teaches that a mistake is a step on the way, not the end of the world.

04

Logical thinking

Planning, pattern recognition and precise calculation. Skills that follow the child far beyond the board.

What the first lesson looks like

  1. 01

    A short hello

A few minutes of conversation: what the child already knows, what interests them, and what matters to you as parents.

  2. 02

    A first game

We play together. I watch how the child thinks, not just how they move.

  3. 03

    The lesson itself

One clear, practical topic, pitched exactly to their level. We finish with something they can use right away.

  4. 04

    A summary for you

A short chat at the end: what I saw, what the next step is, and how to move forward.

About

Chess is a language. I teach you to speak it, not just memorise phrases.

My story with chess started at eight, when my grandfather taught me the first moves. I joined a club with a few friends, and even then I found out how competitive I am. One of my earliest and fondest memories is the evening I beat the computer for the first time — even on its easy setting.

Later my mother found me a private teacher, and little by little I moved into tournaments and started collecting my first wins. As a teenager I stopped playing, and only at 14, when a chess club opened in my town, did I come back to the game — this time seriously. I started training regularly, played in the top youth league, and reached an Israeli rating of 1800 by the age of 17.

Alongside my own progress as a player I also started teaching chess to other children, and found I enjoy the teaching just as much — especially seeing students improve, develop independent thinking and gain confidence at the board.

Shortly after finishing first in the Israeli Championship last-16 stage in Kiryat Bialik, I enlisted as an air-defence operator in Iron Dome. Chess took a step back during my service, but I tried to keep it part of who I am. Today I'm back to playing and teaching with renewed passion.

In my lessons I fit the learning to the student: to their level, their goals and the way they learn best. The aim isn't only to learn moves, but to understand the game, develop independent thinking, recognise patterns and know how to analyse positions and games.

Method

Three things every lesson is built on.

  1. 01

    Diagnose before we prescribe

We start with your games, not a syllabus. I find the two or three habits actually costing you points and we fix those first.

  2. 02

    Understand, don't memorise

Openings taught through plans and pawn structures. Endgames taught through principles you can reconstruct at the board when memory fails.

  3. 03

    Train the decision

Calculation, thinking-process work and timed play, so what we cover in the lesson survives contact with a real clock.
